I would really appreciate it if someone could help me. My grandpa passed away in January, and his birthday is at the end of April. He and my mom were very close-I think he was the only person she could relate to in our family. I am making a memorial thing about him in a photo frame to give to my mom on his birthday. I really would like a poem or quote, maybe something about fatherhood, to go on it.
No offense, but I'm not looking for bible verses or quotes referring to God. I respect your religion, it just doesn't fit with my family dynamics. Please show the same respect for my beliefs.
I appreciate your help.

ok, I have a book here"A father's words of wisdom" maybe one of these will be encouraging and you can fit it into a sympathy note to help her remember the good times and things he may have said to her?
"Life is a coin. You can spend it any way you wish, but you can only spend it once." Lillian Dickson (remembering all the times "dad" was there for her)
"Laughter adds richness, texture, and color to othewise ordinary days" Tim Hansel (remembering his jokes or witty personality)
"There are no impossible dreams--just our limited perception of what is possible" Beth Mende Conny ((even tho he's gone the love she knew should be the reason to continue on and succeed in life and try her best at school, work, life)
"There is something ultimate in a father's Love. Something that cannot fail, something to be believed against the whole world. " Frederick W. Faber
"My father would pick me up and hold me high in the air. he dominated my life as long as he lived, and was the love of my life for many years after he died". Eleanor Roosevelt (remember those good old childhood days?)
"Time, not money, is the real currency of our lives" R. Tripplett
(was he a take time to be with her kind of dad? take her places, be at her special events to support her?)
If none of these work for you, then maybe all you need to do is take it from your heart. Example: "Smile mom and remember the good times you shared with him whenever you are sad."
