My husband and I saved up enough money to buy my dad a Rolex watch. He always wanted one but never really thought about purchasing one because they are pricey. So for Christmas 3 years ago we bought him one. He was so excited and he never takes it off. It's nice to do things for someone that are so unexpected.
Jimcrow...LOL.

There's a girl I work with, and no one really likes her because she is very bossy and nosey. She doesn't bother me. Anyways, she has a big heart and always buys people gifts for their b-days or holidays, but no body every gives her anything. So last Christmas, I bought her this HUGE smoked salmon gift basket from Harry & David's and gave it to her all wrapped up with a huge bow when she was at work. She was so happy and started crying. Everyone said she couldn't stop looking at it and was all teary the rest of the day.
Other than that, everyday I always make sure other people are taken care of before myself. From opening doors for people, to letting others in front in line, spending lots of money on presents, giving up days off for other people at work, being a courteous driver, and making sure I treat complete strangers I come in contact with, with kindness and respect, even if they are being rude or don't show it to me. It's just something that makes me feel better about myself, knowing I am not being part of the problem, and am making the right decisions. I think it helps me sleep better at night and keep a positive outlook on things.

The best thing I have ever done for someone is apologize, or make amends, for what was perceived as rude behavior on my part.
I learned a great deal from that incident which is not to judge someone by what others say about him, but make up your own mind by being open minded.
I told him that and that I had learned a great deal. He looked very pleased and that nagging little event stopped nagging at me.
It's amazing what can be done if you're willing to admit mistakes and admit them to others.

I think the best thing a person can do for someone is just be there for them. We all have our good and bad days. I think that people just need to know they have someone that they can call to just talk and get things off their chest. I try to do that for all of the people in my life. I listen, and when they ask, I give my opinion. It might sound weird, but I need that just as much as they do. It's a great feeling to know that someone can call on you when they need you!

The best thing that I can ever remember doing for someone was on Valentine's Day when I wrote my gf a list of everything that I love about her and bought her a necklace.

The best thing I can do is baby sit for my sister and brother-in-law so they can have a date night once a month. Granted I love the rugrats, but I do it without getting paid and I do it so they can have a night to themselves. I think that is the best I can do.

I was their "one". I was the person they came to to listen at any time day or night. I gave unconditional love & never asked for a thing in return.
