Autocad 2000 drawing format not accessible in autocad 2002

You should be able to open it. AutoCad is backward compatible, you can open the old version with the new one, but not other way around unless you resave it with older version.

Most programs are downward mobile.

In Autocad 2002, try File, Open.
at the top of the window, enter the path or directory
at the bottom, filename - type the name of the file
for filetype - click the down arrow and see if there is an option for previous versions of Autocad

Autocad is always reverse compatible. It won't open in Acad 2002 only if it is a later version like Acad 2004 or if it is not a .dwg file. Check the file extension. If you are trying to open a .bak file then you may have to recover it.

Change file type name from .bak to .dwg - for example: xxxx.bak to: xxxx.dwg then you'll be able to open it
