I'm 25 years old and I do know that the benefits go until age 26. I talked to someone at school that was over all that stuff and he said that I could just get a monthly check thing for school i forgot what it was called. He said the most I could get monthly would be 1,000 but the VA decides how much you get. My tuition is 7,200 a semester. So I just wanted to know some more about this. Thanks

I think you are too old to qualify for benefits. Call the Veteran's Administration listed in your phone book. They can be very helpful.

First of all it is called Chapter 33 or 35 which is for children of disabled veterans that are 100%. It covers all public colleges and pays for classes and books but does not cover room charges. My husband is a disabled vet and commander for the state of Georgia and my daughter is eligible for the same thing when she gets to college age. I am currently attending college under the spouse allowance but I only receive a portion of my tuition a month. The best thing to do is go to the financial aid office at your college and they have the forms there for you to fill out. There is always someone there that knows about the VA and knows what you will need. I am not sure about the age constraint.

If the president even considering this, it's a shame! He should go on TV today and say that he is not going to even propose something like this. Will he do it? Do not hold your breath. The veterans have already paid for their insurance. They paid with their service and many of them paid with their health and even their lives. Well, I'm sure some misguided veterans and active members of the Armed Forces voted for this President along with millions of other lost souls. Maybe next time people who voted for this President will think harder before they cast their vote.

To answer your question. Yes, you sound like you would be eligable to recieve benefits. Below is the link I copied from the VA website in regards to education assistance. Once you are in this site, you can also download the appropriate forms needed to initiate the start of your benefits. Generally, it can take a couple of months for these payments to kick in due to the time it takes for processing. Good Luck! :)

There are benefits available for the dependents of vets but I believe they run out at age of 24. What I would suggest you do is to call your local veterans office and request the information. They are very helpful!

it is possible, but i'm thinking you've passed the age of eligibility. it is the gi bill that you'd be going for. talk to one of the service officers (take your dad with you) and they'd be able to help you on this. i believe 24 is the cut off age....it is for most of the children dependant benifits....
