Unless your wisdom teeth are giving you problems I really don't see any reason why you should get them removed. I only had a problem with one of mine and I still have the rest and have had them a very long long time. I had one removed because it had a cavity in it. Since then I have been very careful to brush them more thoroughly. If they are giving you problems then you must get them removed but make sure they are the ones that are the problem as sometimes when a tooth is aching you really cant tell which one it is. Some dentist take them out to make money. Find yourself an honest dentist ...not one that wants your money.
PS Hey ( Brittae)......."more painful than childbirth" ...you either have never had children or you had a very very easy child birth/births.

I'm assuming you're talking about them drugging you so you go to sleep... for me, I was passed out the entire time, didn't feel a thing. When I woke up, I didn't even realize the operation was over, until I discovered wads of cotton inside my mouth and holes where my teeth were. It doesn't matter what you wear that day, although I do agree they probably won't let you bring a blanket. In my case, all I remember is as the surgeon was injecting me, I asked him "How long will it be before I fall asleep?" and he said "It'll be quick." I closed my eyes and don't remember anything after that lol. It's a pretty quick and painless thing, trust me. I did it the other way too, where I was awake and they just numbed the area to remove the teeth, but that hurt so much more! I also ate ice cream afterwards. :) I didn't use any painkillers either, although I never do for anything so I may just be used to it.

It's a tough decision. I've heard the longer you wait, the worse it will be. But then again, some people never have them taken out. I tried to wait, but then one got infected. I was in a lot of pain and had all four removed at once so I never had to worry about it again. I was down for 3-4 days after and also had dry sockets, which are more painful than childbirth. However, I would do it again in an instant because now they are all gone and I don't have to worry about it ever again.
So, if you're getting one out, get 'em all out. You'll be happy you did.

You should go ahead and have all four taken out. Evidently you have been to a Dentist and he has done x-rays and concluded that they all need to come out. If you don't get them out when the others start hurting you are going to have to go back to the dentist pay another exam visit, and possibly another x-ray. And what if it hurts an an inconvenient time, like on the weekend and most Dentist will not be in. You have already come this far...so go ahead and get all four and you will be sore for about a week, and it will be over with. Plus your parents are helping pay. They may not offer the next time. Get them out. Good Luck!

I would go ahead and get them all out. It is a difficult recovery whether you have one or all four out. Do it all at one time and get it over with. It will cost you a lot more than $400 later on if you do end up needing the others out and happen to not have insurance or parents who will pay for most of it.

It depends on how bad it bothers you or if it is interfering with your other teeth. If the pain goes away, leave them alone . I had mine removed at age 28 as they started breaking thru on top but facing the back of my head [& they hurt], I recently found out that I have another set! But I was told that they will never come down.

only get the ones that are hurting out. Very few people have wisdom teeth so try to keep as many as you can.

Get them all out at once, and if your parents are only making you pay $400 you got yourself a BIG DEAL!!! You will be sorry if you don't do all 4 at once.

well, i recently got all four pulled out. they told me that was the best if i wanted my jaws to line up properly. i also got four molars pulled out to make space in my mouth....but if u do plan to get all four pulled out, u should do it two at a time. i got all four of mine pulled out at once, and the recovery was pretty annoying and aggravating...so i'm pretty sure two wouldn't be as bad except for the fact that you'd have to go through the operation process twice, instead of getting it all over with at once. Well, Hope This Helps!!!!!!

If you only get one taken out you will need more appointments to get the rest taken out later. It is your choice to either do it all in one shot or have them taken out in more than one appointment.
