I just found out my aunt has a brain tumor today. It's very unreal to me. The only thing I know about brain tumors is the 11 year old boy from 6th grade that died that year from a brain tumor.

I can't give you more information because I wasn't told much. All I know is she is going into surgery next week to try and have it removed.

People survive brain tumors more than you probably are aware. There are different types of brain tumors so it is important to know which type your Aunt has. There is treatment for most types of brain tumor and success will depend upon your Aunts overall health, location of tumor, type of tumor, and her response to treatment.
I know many people who have had primary brain tumors and people who have had secondary brain tumors. At the moment I've seen some brain tumors being treated with Temodar (chemotherapy that crosses the blood/brain barrier), I've seen patients operated on to have the tumor removed, and I know a young lady who just underwent a Gamma Knife surgery to remove 9 lesions from her brain.
Please keep in mind that people do survive brain tumors . . one of the more famous cases would be Lance Armstrong. He was diagnosed and treated successfully ten years ago with testicular cancer. He was a stage IV with metastasis to the lung and brain. He underwent surgery to remove three tumors from his brain. He continued competive bicyling and went on to win the Tour de France seven times.

She neglected some college alongside the way for surgeries and scientific care, yet she graduated from college and is now married with 2 toddlers. She lives a classic, healthful existence. With strategies maximum cancers, it relies upon on the type of maximum cancers you have. the main worry-unfastened variety of strategies maximum cancers -- glioblastoma -- is an aggressive maximum cancers and oftentimes kills sufferers interior of a few months.

cancer is very treatable today there are many different and affective treatments available. they can remove all or part of the tumor doing surgery and even if they do not remove all of they can probably do radiation or chemotherapy to get the rest.

As already mentioned, each case is different. You did not give much description so it is impossible to give accurate statistics. One thing, adult brain tumors are usually very different than pediatric cases.

depends on what kind it is, where it is, and if it's treatable. i work in a school and we had a little girl this year that had a brain stem tumor. i thought she was going to die for sure, but she's been back at school for a while.
