I plan on becoming a bartender soon in the state of Texas and I am just curious to see if any of you are bartenders or know any bartenders. I'm really just looking for what to expect. Thanks for any of your help!

Practice and Study, Those are the only ways to become better at anything Bartending is a lot of fun, but the hours can be long be prepared not to have much of a social life, except hanging with the people you work with. It is a huge responsibilty also, so dont take it for granted. Have Fun and Get Laid!!!!!

Not if you start at a small place. I was thrown behind the bar at a small family type place with only 20 minutes of basic instruction. If you can find a job like that, buy a lot of bartending books and read. That's what I did. It becomes second nature after a while and you get more creative. I did it for over 8 years successfully, you can too.

Not at all...I went to bartending school. I had a blast and starting working in a restaurant right away. Money is great too,if you get the right job.
Research some schools. They also help you get a job at the end!

Its not hard, is very helpfull if you have a friend who owns a bar. I would recommend you to start at a cheap bar with a small menu of drinks so you can get used to basic drinks and mixes, then you should start going up the stairs.
