lately i don't seem to be able to do as many crunches, i don't know if i hurt my back or something. but i used to be able to do over 50, right now i can only do about 15-20, i'm 18 and 160lb, any input appreciated

Do as many as you can, then rest. Do more later...and more later.
If you can only do a few, then just do a few. It doesn't hurt to take a break, but get back into the habit when you're feeling up to it.

When you do crunches, wear a weightlifting belt and elevate your legs to reduce strain on your back.

50 crunches every other day is the maximum you should do, otherwise you'll get a large belly. Use proper form -- this is very important!

15 to 20 crunches is fine. Do not worry about it. As you tighten up your abs, you will be able to increase the number.

Try to do them every other day, put your feet under something heavy like the sofa or a set of weights.
Count by 10's--10-20-30-40-50-60-70-80-90-100
which will mean one finger, 10 fingers u would do 100.

It depends on how long you've been doing crunches. Your rate should be increasing, but if you haven't been doing them in a while, then it's understandable that you're not able to do as much. If it just happened suddenly, then yes, you might've pulled a muscle in your abs or something.

If your doing them day by day you could be building lactic acid in your muscles from anaerobic respiration which would cause your muscles to hurt and/or be tired the next day. just keep with and eventually youll build stamina. even if your muscles hurt you still need to do the crunches or you being tired will come back again.

rest for a couple days, and then try again... otherwise, don't strain yourself too much, you don'twant to overexert your muscles
