I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the A/C went out recetnly. I had it repaired at the dealer. They stated that the "accumulator" was faulty and needed replacement. I went ahead with those repairs. The accumulator ended up costing over $200. Is the normal? Seemed high to me.

That seems like an average figure indeed. The next thing to go on your WJ is your blower motor resistor module. If you have any future problems turn your key to acc. 3 times and a fault code should come up on your digital odometer readout. Just something a dealer mechanic does not want you to know.

That's normal. If you have a mechanic friend you can try pulling one off a junker and have him/her install it.
