im getting a few things done to myhair next week and i have an idea what i want but i dont know the correct terms to use to describe it to my hair dresser. Just to giv eyou a clue as to my needs, I am 21, a mom to a 9months old baby girl and have dense hair and slightly wavey. I ussually straighten my hair board straight but i feel that i need a fringe bang to hide my prominent forhead...I cant decide, thickk or thin...my only concern with bangs is that i dont want them to look greasy because i dont wash my hair every single day because it tends to dry it out. Anyway,, the bottom of my hair ( long layers) is cut straight across at the bottom. I've been seein these girls with like, a point at the bottom..I dotn want my hair to come to a point but i want it to come down to more of a triange instaed of blunt straight across...can u help me fiureout what the term is for that and if would be a good idea?

Try a layered cut. It will lighten the weight of your hair so your waves will come to life -- it's SO much easier to take care of, and even if your hair is a little dirty it's OK. You won't have to spend a lot of time straightening it, and you'll have more time to spend with your new baby.

If you don't want to make a committment to shorter bangs, have your hairstylist cut shorter layers around your face and see how that works for you. You can always go back to your stylist later if you want to go shorter.

Actually, I think you described what you want very well. You were very detailed, and I understood everything you said. I recommend that you print your question and take it with you to the salon.
