I think it's nosy people's opinions as to whether she's "too" promiscuous.
If she's honest about her sexual appetite, and doesn't try to deceive her partners, it's nobody's business but hers.
Personally, I like a girl with experience.

There is not a secret number. Like everything, everyone has a difference in opinion. What do you think of yourself? Are you having sex for the right reasons? The problem is some guys talk (or brag) about getting a girl in bed. Never think that they will never talk, and that is when the reputation sets in. I actually heard a guy say today...see that girl. I knew her in high school, she got laid more times then carpet. Whoa, he has not been in school for 4 years but her reputation still lives on.

It is not a matter of the number of partners the woman has had but the number that others know she has had sex with, and their knowledge of how easily she jumps into bed with a man.
It is also a matter of consent. A rape victim is not promiscuous and neither is a 'sex slave' whereas a prostitute who does it of her free will can be said to be promiscuous.

what is interesting is that guys are never considered promiscuous...they get the label " stud"...
all of that should have changed by 2007..and unfortunately it hasn't....
the best thing a girl can do it to keep quiet about her number of partners.
but a girl would be considerd promiscuous by a very high number of partners ..high rate of one night stands..and a general easiness of falling into bed with many men.
not a good thing.

Me personally after 10 I start to wonder but a lot of that depends on age and never give your man details that will drive him crazy. especially about any one nighters.

I think if a woman wants to have sex, then she has every right to. As long as she's not cheating on a significant other and hurting someone, then all the power to her, and who cares what people think?
