Seriously the world has gotten kinda hairy. I know this happens from time to time. It seems that mass catastrophe brings people together. Whatever your beliefs are would you be surpised if civilation was decimated by a rain of fire, flooding, homicidal trees, earthquakes, locusts, the Stay Puffed Marshmellow Man or whatever?

-----If it is time for a flood, we have the antidote not only to stop it, but also to prevent it

There will never be another flood. God promised that in the Bible after Noah. However, He never said anything about Stay Puffed Marshmallows. I suggest you study your Bible, but if that doesn't work out build a huge fire and make some gigantic smores! Just make sure you have enough chocolate and Graham crackers to make your fantasy worth-while! Notice I didn't mention Homicidal Trees. However there is war in the middle-east, and there is nothing short of God's direct intervention that might stop that. Let's see. Jerusalem is sitting on a fault line and the dome of the rock is in the middle and if the Israels set off some of our "bunker buster" bombs we are shipping them to root out Hezbollah and the rip starts happening in the Earth's crust and destroys the Temple Mount...What then? Speculate all you want. I doubt if the Muslim Dome gets destroyed that anything will bring those people together short of a homicidal Stay Puffed Marshmallow or the second coming of Jesus.

The rainbow is a sign that there will never be another flooding of the earth. However, I must say that I think it is time for something. And I think that the Almighty agrees with you too. Look at the weather. Hurricane Katrina, and the tsunami, are two examples of devastating weather and it did bring some people together. But I don't think it's enough. I think there will have to be some really major things happen.

actually the earth was flooded twice. remember genesis ch. 1 and verse 2. the darkness covered the face of the deep and the earth was without form and void. God didn't cause this. this was cause by satan when the angels fell from their 1st estate. they caused such chaos on the earth that it even blotted out the sun. the sun was always shining but something obscured the sun and flooded the earth which then froze over which science explains as the ice age. but the holy spirit over came and dissolved the obscuration letting the sun shine thru and melted the ice and parted the waters.
