We are having a baby girl "Chloe Melissa" due on August 5th. We decided to go with a classic Pink Toile them for bedding and curtains and the furniture is Victorian antique white. We are struggling with a wall color idea. Pink seems to work but I'm worried everything will be too pink in there. Any alternate ideas on a wall color? Thanks!

Depending on the lighting style of course as well as the size and shape of the room picking out the color is one of the hardest things to do on a redecorating project. I worked in the paint department at Home Depot, so questions like this were asked of me daily. A good resource is the Behr.com website. You can choose colors and even order mini samples of colors to test. I ran your color of Antique White along with the pink theme. Go to your nearst Home Depot and get the sample for Coral Mantle 190A-2. Its a very light pink color and very soft. Keep in mind sunlight is a yellow based color and most incandescent lights are white based. I don't know what sort of flooring you have in the room but that can affect the color results too. You might think too about painting 3 walls the above mentioned pink color and a 4th accent wall a different contrast color. Hope this helps

In my opinion there are two ways to go. The first is to keep it airy and light with pastels so maybe a pastel green or a light yellow to go with the pink. Alternatively you can use a darker and bolder color- not overwhelmingly- but in subtle places like drawer knobs, bows, ribbons on curtains, edges on furniture, wall hangings, etc...
Maybe a darker shade of blue or green or purple. Of course it's all relative to what kind of pink you're using.
I'm sure it will come out looking great!
Congrats!

Congratulations on your baby girl.

A friend of mine has a 1 year old. Her room also has off-white furniture with pink curtains and bedding. They painted her walls a very light spring green. I think is a lovely room.
