Well, I was wondering why so many people on this site seem to dis christianity or any religion that believes in God? I mean, seriously, almost every time I'm on here I see people dising God and the people that believe in Him. You don't see us Christians making jokes and dissing Atheists, right? Maybe here and there, but very rarely. So, after all that, why do people diss us and our religion?

Btw, I'm not pointing the finger at anyone. I'm just wondering why.

People fear what they do not understand. Faith is something some people do not understand. They way some respond to things they fear is to ridicule them and make them seem less than they are. That, and, as christians, we are taught to not do such. It is not our place to judge others, only to try and show them a way we believe to be better. They too are entitled to their opinion. The difference is that we are not trying to squash there ways out of society, only trying to show why we believe what we do. The more active athiests really make me angry. They have their right to no religion, but they do not have the right to try and deprive me, or their children who may desire it, of my faith. May the Stars guide your path, Lost Ranger

It's called returning the favor. Yes, I do see (some, well many) Christians "diss" other people on here ALL the time.

I've never had an Atheist make fun of my religion, I think I can safely assume it's because Asatruars don't go around attacking Atheists trying to get them to believe in Odin under the threat of being bound in Nifelhel and having snake venom drip on them for not sharing the same religion.

Christianity is one of the only religions that is hellbent on converting everyone, usually by means of hellfire and damnation threats.

The dis' comes from the feeling that Christians try to force their morality onto the rest of us.

It's very much in line with the notion of live and let live. You do your thing and let me do mine without judgment, comment, or interference: that's the notion that almost all the other religions (and secular belief systems) espouse. Only Christians feel the need and think they have not only the right, but the obligation to interfere with my life, stick their noses into my bedroom activities, attempt to tell me what to eat, what to drink, when, where and how to worship, and that I'm going to hell if I don't believe and behave like them.

Think back to Prohibition, when the consumption, purchase, distribution and manufacture of alcoholic beverages was made illegal, unconstitutional in fact, by a Christian conservative minority (a voting majority, but a minority nonetheless). This concept of legislating morality, of forcing a conservative Christian ideal onto the whole population, is what gets the rest of the population, even the more liberal Christians (like me) all riled up.

When, and if, that interfering, old-maid aunt, busybody behavior ever stops, the majority of jokes and disrespect toward Christians would stop. Not all, but most.

Because athiests mistakenly believe they are some sort of "new" people and they also believe we Christians are out of date. They are angry at the "fact" that we are still falling behind. We Christians however believe they have the right not to be affiliated with a religion, so we usually let them alone.

Many non-believers just shrug and think "To each his own." We do not all dis Christianity or monotheists. It's probably about equal as statistically there are as many rude people as nice ones in the world, regardless of religion.

Gazoo's right.
There are just as many believers here, there are just more non-believers speaking up so it looks like everyone's anti-faith.
Count the number of times people go out of bounds and you'll see it's pretty equal.
Atheists don't have a corner on the rudeness market.

Jesus said that if the world hated him, it would hate us as well, and the servant is not greater than his master.

We are not going to win any friends by telling them about eternal judgement without Christ,or by not accepting the world's view on abortion, homosexuality or evolution,etc...but we MUST be in defense of the Gospel...we should be loving in our presentation but firm and unwavering in our convictions.

They dis Christianity because they are angry with us,our message and most are afraid.

People have the right to their opinion. I personaly could not care less what someone thinks about me...or God... Just do not worry about it, ignore the comments you find offensive, smile, and try to have a nice day :)

No, I don't see Christians dissing anyone because they are all over in the Gay/Lesbian section condemning people to an eternity in hell.....stop looking at one side of the coin!

If you do not see Christians on here making fun of atheists, then you are only seeing what you want to see.

Hmmm I assume dis is short for disrespecting? Well you only see what you wish to see, I'd say its about even, and if you are not making jokes it speaks to a lack of a sense of humour...
