"for we walk by faith not sight" 2 Corinthians 4:7 It's all about believing he's there. I would go to a Baptist church, Mine is Fundamental Independant..which pretty much means the Bible is the foundation for what is taught. Everything said can be backed up right out of the bible. First, you should talk to someone you know who is saved, or maybe a church. Don't get mixed up in a false Doctrine, like Mormanism. In Revalations 22:18-19 it says to not add or take anything away from the bible, which they have...ex: book of mormon, lets start a religion and call it...whatever..and have the book of whatever, and so Nso whatever "founded" it..no one can start or Find a religion or whatever but God. Anyways...then they will let you know of Gods grace and love for all of us, good or bad, any background. Jesus takes you as you are, and you don't need to clean up or anything before accepting him. You realize you are a sinner, and Jesus died on the cross for YOU and everyone else, even with the darkest sin you've ever heard of. Well, you then understand that he died to wash your sins away, and you accept him as your savior. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life" Romans 6:23 When you accept Christ as your savior, you're accepting the gift of free salvation, so you can go to heaven when you die, or IF Jesus comes in your lifetime. Sorry this is SO long, but if you have any questions i'd be happy to answer! and many peple might not agree, but i've seen it, but the KJV bible hasn't been changed or translated since translations to English, but niv takes out important verses, and alters other important ones, changing the meaning...Hope this helped tho!!! GoodLuck =]

I often wish that God would just call me on the phone or send me an eMail, but with all of the "crazies" out there, I suppose His chosen method is best after all.
When I have a true question, God responds, and He usually responds quickly.
Before I was a Christian, but when I was of a mindset to seek Him, I had begun visiting different churches, talking with people about their faith, and listening to different church type things on TV.
I was at the time living in a tiny studio apartment, and had barely enough money to live. I had zero savings, and zero credit.
I was suddenly faced with a financial crisis and needed $2,700 to take care of the situation. I worried about it, I examined all my options, and had no way to come up with that much money. Time was growing short. I finally tried prayer. It was a bit awkward, but I asked God for help. I said I had NO Clue exactly HOW He might help me, but I figured if anybody could do something, He could.
This was on a Friday. I went to work on Saturday, spent Sunday doing laundry and all of my other chores, and went to work Monday. The $2,700 had to be paid on Wednesday. I had resigned myself to failure, and prepared for the worst.
I went directly to my second job on Monday, and when I got home got my mail from the main mailbox and went to my door. There between the screen and the door was a white UPS Express envelope. Odd. I wasn't expecting anything from UPS.
Inside was a check for $3,000 from a place I had never heard of, congratulating me for winning their sweepstakes.
Huh? I didn't have a computer at home, and we were not supposed to play on the internet at work. I did not recall entering any sweepstakes. But the check was real....
I cashed it on Tuesday. I had a Bible, and was reading chapters. I had recently read about "First Fruits" and tithing. I noticed that I had exactly $300 extra, exactly 10% (a tithe) of the whole amount. I decided to tithe the $300. I gave the money to a friend for her church, and then went to pay my bill.
When it was all over, I prayed again, thanking God for the help. I then asked Him if He really wanted me to be one of His children. I didn't think I was that good of a "catch".
I guess God had other ideas.
Now, God answers me different ways. I know I can rely on Him to answer, but I have to be on the look out for the answer.
Sometimes, His answer comes in the form of a person. I ask a question of have an issue, and within days, a person comes by with an answer. Sometimes the person is a passer by, never to be seen again. Sometimes it is a new friend I meet in some unusual way. Sometimes, I just "know" that a person is one of "HIS". The lady who is now my wife was an answer to a prayer, and for sure one of HIS.
Sometimes the answer to my question is an opportunity of some sort. An opportunity to help a stranger. An opportunity to exercise some lesson I recently learned. An opportunity for such worldly things a my job. A few years ago, I had just celebrated 10 years working for the same company. I was a consultant, and was sent out to client sites to perform my tasks, and was well known and well respected by my clients.
I had just taken some time, at my company's request, away from clients so I could finish updating some training materials I had written, and prepared them for publication. I was thrilled, I was going to be a published author. When the materials we completed, I put myself back on the market, and had several new interviews lined up for more consulting work.
But, one day, I came into the office to get some material on my upcoming interview, and the boss took me aside and "let me go". I was fired, for no earthly reason I could think of. I was heartbroken, because my job defined who I was. Now I was nobody.
On top of it all, my new wife and I had our first (and only) disagreement, and we were still feeling hurt about it. I didn't know what else to do, so I decided to pray. But, I was distracted by all that was going on, and suddenly, I just "knew" that I needed to talk to Linda, my wife. I drove the few blocks to her office.
I called her up, and asked her to come out to the parking lot right now. She didn't question why, she just said OK, and sure enough, there she was at the doorway a few minutes later.
She was more curious than anything else, but I slowly told her what all happened. I also told her the rest, about how I WAS my job, and that I tried to pray. I asked her to pray for and with me. She did, and I did feel better. I went home, and decided to break out my resume.
I started up efforts to find a new job. I had never, in my 40+ years at the time, ever been out of work since I had started working at 14.
Wednesday evenings are Bible Study evenings. I had been fired Wednesday morning. When Linda got home from work, we ate dinner and went to Bible class. The class prayed for me right there.
Over the next few days, I located several places to apply, touched up my resume and began making appointments. Before any of the appointments came up, I got a call from a place I had never heard of. They introduced themselves, and asked if I was still in the consulting business. I said yes, and asked them why.
They said that a few weeks ago, their client had a special need, and suggested that if they could find me, they would be quite happy. The company had tried some of their own people but it did not work out, so they started looking for me.
Exactly one week, almost to the minute, after I was fired, I was back to work, at a higher rate of pay than before. This has led to more work, and I am now in a place where I am happily busy, well paid, and am able to discuss my faith with quite a number of folks who are actually interested.
So now, I am happy, and I am also doing God's work.
These are just two examples of many that show how God works in my personal life. God had to be working far in advance of my even asking the question, or having the need.
