Kinsey,
Instead of worrying about cutting being a sin-
ask God to put someone in your life that can help you find a way to stop. People who cut usually are mutilating themselves for a reason....it is supposed to be a release from pain. Counseling would be a good idea for someone that cuts... God forgives sin...but the person needs help to stop the behavior. If I can help you or someone who is cutting please mail me.

If you need help God will provide it for you. He won't necessarily hold you accountable for hurting yourself if you are willing to get some counseling. But if you are happy to continually cut yourself until you eventually bleed to death some afternoon without trying to get some help then He might conceivably require an explanation. The thing to remember is that He is not a sinister old man sitting on a throne watching us with clenched fists waiting for us to make a mistake so He can jump on us.
He knows you better than you can imagine and He is more than willing to get involved if you will ask Him. There is more going on inside of you than just having a rough week. Get some help. Talk to a counselor, a teacher, a nurse, a doctor, a trusted adult...
just get some help.

You're harming yourself, which is a sin, but I've never known a cutter who wasn't enduring something far worse than the physical pain and bleeding. You are or have been sinned against a lot more than you're sinning yourself when you cut yourself.
Try to talk to someone about this; get some help, for your own sake, and to hell with those who drive you to cut yourself.

To put it plainly, yes. However, that does not mean one should jump to the conclusion that they're "going to hell" or that God will strike them. The law of God is meant as a mirror for us, so we may see our true condition. It cannot save. Jesus saves. But both are necessary; for how can one know what is right or wrong, if no one shows them? Also, God is a very loving, merciful God. His desire is not to strike you the first chance He gets. That is the twisted thinking of ignorant human beings. And I don't say that harshly. His desire is to bring negative behavior to the light, that you may see it - then to give you the grace and power to change it. He loves you. That's how it really works.
Also, God knows and understands your struggles, and is patient with us. He knows that for the most part, things don't change over night. But if your intentions are good, and you are actively trying to change for the better - with what knowledge you have - He will accept that, and work with you until completion.
"Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.
For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
Hebrews 4:14-16
"Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them."
Hebrews 7:25

Aside from the cutting, I'd say there are deeper problems that need attention. Those other problems are probably sin related. Maybe needing attention is the problem.
I can tell you what you need but I doubt you'd want to hear it.

Self-injury/cutting
Introduction
For people who can't fathom deliberately hurting themselves, self-injury may seem shocking and frightening. But for people who do injure themselves by cutting or other means, self-injury offers a momentary sense of calm and a release of tension. Unfortunately, that's usually quickly followed by guilt and shame and the return of other painful emotions. And with self-injury comes the very real possibility of inflicting serious and even fatal injuries.
Self-injury isn't a specific disease or condition. Rather, it's a type of abnormal behavior. It may accompany a variety of mental disorders, such as depression and borderline personality disorder. Because self-injury is often done on impulse, it's sometimes considered an impulse-control behavior problem. Self-injury is also known as self-harm, self-injurious behavior and self-mutilation.

Yes it is a sin. Your body is a temple God has given you and to mistreat or desecrate that temple on purpose is a sin. However if someone is doing this it is sign they may need help, Pray about it then talk to someone you trust.

In Islam, you should ask someone else more experience to do it.
It is not a sin, it is just 'not advisable' because you have not enough experience, and might have over-cut it.
You mean you do it your self, cut the edge piece skin of your 'winnie' as for circumcission?

Of course hurting your self in any fashion would be a sin, even eating to much (gluttony) is a sin. But only God can deliver you from such a sin!

The Bible so so. But this was done as a ritual to pagan gods. If you get accidentally cut, this would not be sin. Doing it intentionally is sin.
