WHile grilling, you occasionally want to break open a meat to check doneness or perhaps do some trimming on the grill (cut off a fat piece or burnt piece)
I cook my burgers right out of the freezer. Put them on the fire and they are tender and done inside while the edge seals in the juices. To do so, the premade burgers are frozen together and the serrated edge helps split them off before grilling.
It is convenient

If food sticks on the grill you can use the serrated edges as a saw to get it off.

One side of the spatula is serrated and super sharp, sharp enough to cut into a hefty steak to check for doneness

It's hard to get the food onto a spatula, so those edges help grab a grip. Think about it.

barbequer's will sometimes cut meat using the side of the spatula as most knives are tougher to get over the heat of the bbq.

Not where I live. I trap them in live traps, then shoot them. They are vermin -- dangerous, disease carriers.
