No that's was Gods plan to make him a sacrifice so that people may go to heaven without sacrificing animals to God like the Jews used to .that's the plan. so be it
BUT he said that all that call on the name of the lord with NOT be saved ONLY those that do his fathers will. will make it to heaven, you HAVE to ask the spirit what is Gods will for YOU.AND you MUST listen for the answers when you pray and then you MUST do Gods will.that's a little effort isn't it?
all those poor souls that think they can just believe theres a Jesus and maybe go to church and thats a ticket to heaven, those poor poor souls, there not going to make it,Jesus said only a few will actually make it.I sure hope i am one of those few

It parallels the story of the Egyptian god Horus and the Persian god Mithra (and many others) in too many ways to be coincidence.
And the other gods' stories existed long before the Jesus story supposedly occured, so the spread of Christianity cannot be an issue.

It's actually amazing people still believe it actually happened as told in the Bible.

Jesus did suffer in the garden of Gethsemane before his crucifixion to atone for all of our sins.

Is it proven? No. There is historical data that sugests Jesus did live. I could find it believable that he was crucified and to him he was doing it for all mankind. Do I believe he was the literal son of god. No. I think most of the bible is metephorical and his views on what god is and not to be taken literally.

Umm... the whole Bible thing is pretty much a fairy tale. Written and adopted by the church to keep us all in line. Fortunately for them most people are incredibly gullible. And fortunately for those of us who aren't, it's pretty funny observing those who are.

The bible is a fictional book full of stories that are supposed to help you live your life better... that story (Yes, story) is supposed to teach us that there are others in the world, and they work to help you every day, and you shouldn't forget that.

Does anyone actually realize that? I feel like I'm on crazy pills over here!

One of the early Christian authors was of the opinion that Jesus's death was not an act of "atonement" for our sins, but rather that his death would shame us into repentance.

The "atonement" business came later.

In fact, no record exists of Jesus being tried by Pontius Pilate, and the Romans tend to have kept good records.

It is a real event. 500 people witnessed Jesus going into heaven. His disciples saw him getting crucified and later being risen from death.
