Im just double checking with claiming tuition. If my parents have claimed me then I can not deduct my tuition? Even if i paid for it 100% myself?

Also would there be any other deduction's I could claim as a dependent and community college student?

I live in MA

If your parents can claim you as a dependent, then they get the education credit, you don't.

The amount you pay is part of your support when figuring who provided more than half, to determine if they can claim you.

If you paid it, you get the tuition and fees deduction. If your parents paid it,. for a dependent, they get to claim it. You're a dependent, but they didnt pay it,
