You are just where you should be weight wise. If you feel a bit flabby in places-do some toning exercises but you don't need to diet or lose weight.

You are just fine at 120, what's wrong is a society that gives our young women unrealistic expectations about what they should weigh, based not on health, but on some unrealistic idea that we are all supposed to be a size one. I am 5'2". When I was younger I was able to maintain a weight of 100-110, (size 3 to 5) but I also had to starve my self to do that, and that was with a good 4 miles of walking back and forth to work each day, and only one skimpy meal a day. Granted, I am trying to drop a few pounds now, because I truly am a few pounds over weight, and would like to get down to 120, 130. And that is just fine, for pete's sake that's a size 8! I don't have too far to go, if I eat sensibly, curb a vicious sweet tooth, and get up and move around more. It's a bit more of a challenge that I don't walk to work like that anymore, I need to drive to get to my job, so I have to look around some for better exercise, but I have still lost 10 lbs. since Jan. Even as a size 10, I am still way smaller than the *average* american "real" woman, who wears a 12 to 14. This business of starving yourself to measure up to an unrealistic standard based on whatever Cosmo has to say about it is really unhealthy though, and more about promoting an image for thier advertisers to make money, than anything to do with your health, and the stuff they are pushing is really bad for our young women's self esteem, that's where conditions like anorexia and bulimia start. Don't let magazines and advertising cause you to get in that loop, eat sensibly, exercise sensibly, and learn what weight you feel your best at, not what "they" (Cosmo or other fashion mags, there's a reason why Helen Gurley Brown used to call her readers "mouseburgers" ) say is the right weight. And if you're worried what the guys will think about your weight, trust me, there are plenty of guys out there who like thier ladies curvey, and don't like skinny girls, regardless of what Cosmo tells you.... I will stop ranting now....

No, you are fine at 120lb. There is quite a wide range of what you can weigh for 5ft2. But it really depends on how much body fat you have. You can be 120lb with 22% body fat or you can be 120lb with 30% body fat, it makes a big difference!

HTH : )

Unless you have a disorder like anorexia just asking the question means you think you could look better with a few less pounds of flab. That weight may be fine, especially if it's a lot of muscle.

Weight is not so much a health factor unless your obviously fat or skinny. If your eating healthy foods and getting plenty of exercise, then you should be fine.

Weight is irrelevent. BMI (body mass index) is what matters.

To answer your question, go to the gym regularly. Fat or not, it will benefit you. And if you are fat, you soon won't be if you keep it up.

110, 120, whatever. You're not overweight. You're at the low end of normal for an adult, maybe less for a kid. You can check your BMI (and find out what that means) here:

If you're female:
105lbs for the first 5feet, then add 5lbs for every inch over 5feet.

If you're male:
106lbs for the first 5feet, then add 6lbs for every inch over 5feet.

Also, your waist size should be no more than 1/2 your height.
