important governing issues by referendum in the real world?

Or does the way the masses vote for dumb answers on here and the way the masses vote in political affairs off line represent too completely different demographics?

I'm not even necessarily speaking of any ideological slants ... I mean on Yahoo Answers, even for simple questions with simple answers (like, what color is grass), multiple people will consistently vote for
A) the wrong (factually) answer
B) an answer that doesn't even ~remotely~ address the question

If just seems like alot of people are at either immature, oblivious, or outright dumb. Does the electorate mirror this pool?

First, you have to remember each category has it's own culture. Polls & Surveys is striclty for fun, where as Law & Ethics is more serious. I would put more stock in an answer selected in L&E than I would in P&S.

Second, the format used by Answers does not allow for much public debate. People post an answer and then the users vote, assuming that the person asking the question does not pick a best answer. In the real world, referendums are debated ad nauseum in the public form. It's a little different than making a "gut reaction" vote as often happens on Answers.

The two formats are not comparable and I do not believe that you can make any conclusions based on your hypothesis.

My question approximately advance Math makes use of i'm letting you all vote reason Algebra a million is the final math type I surpassed with an ok grade, and if reentering college i could retake PreAlgebra previously I even set foot interior the door. i could take that by skill of utilising homeschool. So as a results of fact of my asking on count style of loss of understanding i'm letting you all tell me who had the perfect answer.

1) Some people work things out in their heads and then make their decisions.
2) Some people ask for advice from others and then make their decisions.
3) Some people make their decisions by what's popular.
4) Some people make decisions an think about it latter
5) Some people just don't think period.
Unfortunately most people fit in the last 3 categories

Well, keep in mind there aren't any really bad consequences for voting for a "dumb" answer other then possibly encouraging more dumb answers. Voting for dumb policy on the other hand could come back to haunt you in due time.

I don't think its a fair sampling of the country at large. Don't forget (and no offense intended) that many of the people on here aren't even old enough to vote - they're just having some fun.

"are at either immature, oblivious, or outright dumb"

No, they're just lazy - the first answer usually wins.
