You should probably ask the IE7 Customer Service and the Firefox Costumer service.
If you don't feel like doing that uninstall the program that caused the freezing.
Another idea would be to ask someone like geek squad.

I've heard of some folks having problems such as yours with Firefox. Try uninstalling it and see it it runs okay without it. If so, just use IE7. It seems to run better with XP anyway.

go to add and remove programs in control panel and remove firefox. Or....
You could try the system restore:
Go To:
start
programs
accessories
systems tools
system restore
This process is completely reversable. And does not remove your personal files. Just go back one checkpoint at a time until our puter is working good again. You may need to reinstall some programs but his is the easiest and safest way I have found to correct most problems.

it has to be something else. lots of people do that everyday with no problem. did you get firefox from http://www.mozilla.org/firefox ? if not maybe you downloaded a virus with it.
