My male friend says he's allergic to chicken. Something I have never heard of....Left me puzzled and hemmed and hawwed over it.

He was once very sick from eating chicken, which I strongly believed it wasn't throughly cooked back home in India.

One day, his friends were worried for his well-being during the 'flu season' should he get sick. How was he supposed to know whether the flu shot will help him.

Well, a week later he went in, for some reason, he receieved his flu shot, and never had a reaction.

Curiousity got the better of me, wondering if any of you folks been down this path? Was it bad chicken or ????

Can you show me some sites where I could print it and show to him for more proof!

I saw my doctor once because I was having so many food allergies. She told me no one is allergic to meat. (Seafood is different). However, she pointed out that there is a difference between an allergic reaction and being sensitive to a food. The sensitivity to meat could be the way it is prepared, the spices used, under or over cooked, or the fat content. He probably was ill for the reason you stated, or the way it was prepared and it upset his stomach, and he may have confused that as an allergic reaction.

I do have a friend who is allergic to a lot of things used in raising a lot of meat animals- including chicken. And my husband can't eat dark meat chicken, or chicken fat: It will make him very sick. Needless to say, when I cook chicken for him, I rip off the skins.

That doesn't mean your friend didn't actually get food poisoning, though. I can't say more without knowing the symptoms.
