I always thought I would have 2 . When I had my 2 girls my husband convinced me to go for a third. I told him I would only if he wasn't hoping for the boy. Well I did and I got that boy and he is the joy of my life! I thought I was at my limit with the 2 but realized after 2 you can have 3 or 4 or more and still make it. My hardest transition was from 1 to 2. 2 to 3 was a piece of cake and I hear that from a lot of moms that have more than 2. But I am really resilient and laid back so maybe that's why I handled it the way I did. Don't think I don't have my bad overwhelmed days becuase I do!

LOL......no I have five instead. I love every bit of it though. Wouldn't change a thing, well maybe I would. I would still have them all, just further apart! lol. None of my children were planned, not even my step kiddo's. Get this. When I met my hubby, he had two kids and didn't tell me. He even had custody of them! He always had a sitter for when we went out though. When I was at his house, I noticed a picture on the fridge of him and a young boy. I asked him if that was his nephew and he said, no, that's my son. I was like, you didn't tell me you had a son! He said, Oh, I thought I did. I excused it. I thought, okay, one kid, no biggie. Then a few weeks later, I spent the night at his house. His ex wife brought the kids home. I didn't see him take both of them upstairs. When I awoke the next morn, I had a little two year old girl saying, mommy, mommy! I flipped. I said, you didn't tell me you had a daughter, he said of course, oh, I thought I did. By then he had me hooked. I already loved him, so I thought, might as well enjoy the ride, and I have! Three years later, I had my first, and then second, and then third. Needless to say, my hubby is now fixed!!! lol. I love it though! Hope this helps you feel a little better. Good luck.

Hubby comes from a large family (8 kids).
I came from a family w/ 3, but always wanted a sister.
I always knew I'd have at least 4, maybe more. I wanted everybody to have at least one sibling of the same gender.

We had one, and were sure we wanted more.

With #2, we had our girl & boy, no worries about "trying" for a particular gender, but we knew we weren't done.

#3 we thought we might slow down a little and take a longer break between them (all 2 yrs. apart, almost exactly), but my body didn't get the memo and #4 came along 2 yrs. later!

He (#4) was a handful (still is), and we talked about being done. 2 boys, 2 girls, sounds perfect, right?

Well 2 yrs. went by and we weren't quite so sure any more. We started to feel a change of heart and thought we'd regret if we stopped-- there was still a feeling that someone was missing from our family.

#5 came along, a sweet little angel of a baby girl. Our last little girl, to baby and pamper...

Until #6! She came along unexpectedly, and while it took a few weeks to sink in, we knew she would be just as loved and welcomed as all of our others when she arrived. And she is! But she was definitely the "sign" that our family was complete.

We have just the right number of children for our family. :)

I thought that I would like to have at least 3, I have 2 girls now, and I was hoping to have a boy. But now I am coming to realize that these things are never gauranteed (that I will have a boy) and I dont think that I really want or need anymore children. My two girls are the best of friends already at the ages of 3 and 6. And I think that I am happy with just the two of them.

I wanted one. My husband kept telling me i would want more, but i was convinced 1 child would be enough for me. I had my first baby, Justine, in Dec 1989. Had a grand ol' time dressing her up and showing her off, figuring hey! I'm only going to do this once!" Then after my daugher's 1st birthday, i turned to my husband and said a very hard phrase for any wife to say: "Honey, you were.... right. I want.... more kids." I had my son Bradin in Feb 1992 and my daugher Sydney in Jan 1995. I wanted a 4th but my husband was afriad we'd have another girl and he wouldn't be able to handle that many women in the house. lol. They're a handful but i love them all to death and glad i had three! 1 wouldn't be enough ;)

I always expected I would have 0-2. I was happy with 0, I was happy with 1, and I'm happy with 2. But that is enough for me. I am trying not to have any more.
