I am leaving to go to hawaii and my boyfriend and I broke up due to this. I would like to write a song in a book i bought him that has to do with how much he means to me and how much I love him and how I wish he would stay with me no matter what. Any suggestions?

It cannot be written by any of us who answer on this site... all I can say, is if you want it to be true and powerful, just sit down, and write from your heart, and it will be good.

Did you have a choice whether to go to Hawaii or not. If you had a choice and he asked you not to go and it was important enough to him that you did not go. You are showing him you care more for the trip then you do him. You are not ready for a one on one relationship. In the book you bought for him just write how much you want to keep his friendship even though your feelings could not stay on the next level. Just keep his friendship.
If you did not have a choice and it was something you could not avoid. then write in that book you are sorry he could not care enough for you to understand you had no choice but you would still like to keep hai friendship

you may love him but if he doesn't love you then you need to find someone that does love you.
