My daughter is going to her junior prom. She was asked by a shy boy (I got the impression that he's very nice..he gave her a dozen roses when he asked her. Took a lot of nerve if he's shy, so I give him a lot of credit.) She's a relatively outgoing person with a good head on her shoulders and a lot of common sense.

Since her mother and I are divorced, I'm not up on a lot of her social activities, but I believe this is might be her first real date. Her date's family doesn't have a lot of money (that's not an issue) and it doesn't matter since the dinner and dance are held in one place.

My questions: #1) I want to meet this young man just to say "hello" and to see my daughter all dressed up. If I asked her if it was OK to just drop by for 2 minutes, do you think that would be too much to ask?

And #2) since her date's funds might be limited, is there anything that I could do or get the two of them to make it even more special than it will already be?

It is understandable that you will want to see your daughter all dressed up and looking grown up and it is only fair after all you are her father. How will they be getting to the prom maybe hire them a limo or a hummer or something along the lines of transport. EMAIL me if you fancy a chat i have an older daughter who went through the same thing last year and her father never even bothered so the fact that your bothering is great!!!

How would desire to your daughter be in the region of asking a date to the Junior prom? she will't in all probability be a Junior at age 15! yet in case you worded your question incorrectly: If she's BEEN asked to the Junior prom via an surely junior, then I do think of she's sufficiently previous to bypass. If she's fairly sixteen years previous and a Junior, and desires to invite a boy to the prom, why not?

how old is your daughter........ why dont you ask your daughter... she might get embassed about it all but a father sould have a right to go see his daughter at her prom with her date......you wouldnt want to make your daughter feel like you dont trust her or her date

i know you wont to make your daughters night special but i think it would be already special for her with her prom date....just because her date might have limited funds doesnt mean her night wont be as beautiful and as wondrful as she wished that night would be perfect.......

Be a man and tell that ***** of an ex-wife that you want to stop by and see your little girl go off to her first date, and if she needs to shut the f up and deal with it. She don't even need to talk to you because you damn well don't even want to talk to her.

As for #2, this is so open to so many bad responses I'm not even going to go there.
