It's all about the execution. Shower your date with compliments (as long as they are sincere, too many fake compliments get old fast). Hold his/her hand in the theatre, then (during a romantic part in the movie) turn your date's head toward you, look into their eyes, then softly kiss them. This is a lot more romantic than just eating eachother's faces. Or, spend some one-on-one time after or before the movie at dinner or walking along the beach, etc. Hope this helps! :]

There is nothing romantic about making out at a movie date. So you go into the cover of darkness, where no one can see who you are with, and you can't talk, and you gross everyone out around you. Try a dinner date and a nice walk, or something that you can get to know each other from. Romance isn't about sex, it is about allure and about falling in love with one another.

Don't go out...make her a homemade dinner and stay in and watch a movie, cuddle up on the couch, and spend time together. Not in a social setting, but in the comfort of your own home.

a picnic in the park,
a moonlit stroll near a lake,
lying on a blanket together looking up at the stars,
dinner and dancing at your house--with candlelight and music.
