I think everyone else has made the point very well that there's really no such thing as an atheist 'group'. Atheists are just people who *don't* do something, and are no more alike than people who don't collect stamps.
But having said that, there *are* some common factors and tendencies to atheists. They tend, for instance, to be among the higher earners. A relatively low proportion of them are in jails.
But above all, they tend to be better educated than the norm. Indeed, the higher up the education ladder you go, the larger the proportion of atheists becomes.
This is especially notable in the US, where as much as 90% of the normal populace is supposed to believe in a god. If you take the members of the National Academy of Science, however, the position is reversed: around 90% of their members - the cream of the US scientific community - *don't* believe in a god.
Make you think. Or at least, it ought to.

We are a group only in that we are separate from other Groups. I cannot speak for my fellow atheists, but my ideology is to live my life to the fullest and to one day have pet midget.

Trying to group atheists is like herding cats.
The only 'shared ideology' we have is that none of us believe in any gods whatsoever. That's pretty much the only thing we have in common.
We're not a religion, we're not a cult, and we're not a club. We're a society, we're a people. Just like the rest of you.

The only thing atheists have in common is a lack of belief in god or gods... that is absolutely all you can say about all atheists. Atheism isn't a religion, it's not a group... it's just a label.

No, atheists are not a group, nor are they a worldview. All 'atheist' connotates is one that doesn't believe in god. Apart from that, atheists can span a multitude of ideologies.

I don't see atheists as a group. We simply deny the existence of gods.
But I never signed up as a member of atheism. It's not my fault that (in my eyes) others invented gods.
If atheism is a group, then I'm also part of the large group that doesn't believe in Smurfs. I'm an asmurfist.

No god
That is as far as it goes. Getting an atheist group together is like herding cats. We just don't have much else in common.

A group? More like a herd of cats, although that makes it sound a bit too organized. Come to think of it the idea of cats it a bit too homogenous as well.
