For Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton, to set themselves up on a pedestal and look down on Imus with fingers pointing out his wrong?....Now in no way shape or form do I agree with Imus and his remarks are callous, but Jackson and Sharpton are just as guilty as Imus, for they spew forth many remarks against each and everyother race in the world.
Thank You

Two wrongs do not make a right, if they have been saying one thing wrong then they are just as guilty as Imus.

I agree, they're such hypocrites. They'll call out someone for saying what he said then tomorrow one of them would be all smiles and thumbs up at a photo op with (insert any rap artist)
who say the same crap in their songs. Go figure.........
Who called them (jackson or sharpton) hip hop stars ? Not me, I simply stated that they would be completely at ease with being photographed with music artists who say things even worse about black women then Imus did . Yes they would. Do I need to break it down more for ya? We can pull up lyrics and I'm pretty sure I could find photos they've already taken in the past with such artists floating around somewhere on the net.

As Christian men I'm sure they both forgive Imus but forgiveness does not absolve consequence. For instance, if your closest family member told millions of people a very distasteful and disrespectful lie about you how quick would you be to allow them to continue doing the things that made it possible for them to do it? Would you really trust that they would never cross the line again? Imus apparently said what was on his heart. It came out with ease and at the time he didn't feel guilty about it so that shows that he really thinks the things he says. A man like that can be forgiven but must not be allowed to continue making those kinds of jokes in any form of employment. As for Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton, on their own terms, they are NOT fully innocent men. They both have been exposed for wrongs in the past and though they both were forgiven they still suffered the consequences.

What have Jesse and Al ever said about white people that was racist? I know Jesse made an off-color comment once bordering on anti-semitism, but I would be interested in any proof of this presupposition.
Further, why dispute it? Even Imus said his words were repugnant.

It wasn't the first time Imus made racial slurs on the air. I can think of only one racist remark made by Jackson, and it was years ago. He apologized immediately for it, which Imus did not do. (He was confronted). I have never heard Sharpton use a racist epithet.
How is it that you lump the offended in with the offender? Please cite your reference of racist remarks made by either of these two men.
As for the one comment, neither one of these men is a hip hop star. Or are you assuming all black men use the term "ho" indiscriminately and lumping these men in with them?

I think Jesse was caught on tape saying something about jews once. The other guy is completely crazy. If you really think about what Imus said, we all are guilty of somekind of remark in our lifetime.

Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton are publicity Ambulance Chasers. They don't care about the people who they rant at or for, they want the publicity because that's how they make their livings.
