To continue your analogy. Yoda said the Dark side is "quicker" not more powerful. There's is nothing quick about the "Mormon" church. Everything in the church involves progression, learning, and patience. However, there are churches out there that say all you need is to believe to be saved. Nothing could be quicker then that, hmmmmm.

BTW, 1stSigRVN get your facts straight, not only are you all over the place (comparing two or three invent in his together although they were years apart), your facts are twisted. I.E sure Joesph was arrested a few times, but due to prosecution. He was never tried let alone convicted. They just hated him. He died in a jail, Form an angry mob the killed him, but he was there for his own protection. Unfortunately it didn't help. However, he sacrificed himself for what he believed in. Not everyone else like some recent cults have done, just himself; a martyr.

P.S. I've been in 1st Sig myself for two years, wow that was messed up. I'm out now, ETSed and glad to be out.

I think everyone has their own idea of the "Dark Side", but I think it is interesting that the original Battlestar Galactica was written by a Mormon and based on Mormon theology. This guy also brought us favorites like the Six Million Dollar Man, Knight Rider and Magnum P.I., just to name a few. Sweet.

Depends on your definition of a "Christian"...

"If it walks like a duck and acts like a duck, it's probably a duck..."

Mormons believe that Jesus was the Son of God, the promised Messiah, and the Savior of the world.

Mormons try to be the best they can- kind, sharing, helping, etc.

What the "Dark Side of the Force" has to do with Christainity, I'm not really sure, but there are those who believe that Mormons aren't actually Christian because we don't believe in the idea of the Trinity. They've narrowed the definition of "Christian" down so tight that they've eliminated practically everyone but themselves....

Guess it's like adding to the definition of a duck and saying all ducks are white... Sure, most domestic varieties are white, but in limiting the color, you've eliminated all wild varieties.... Malards may not be white, but they're still as ducky as any domestic duck.

I love the Stars Wars comparison. Did you know the Yoda was modeled after President Spencer W. Kimball? The planet of Princess Leah was Naboo, and so forth. Seems, however, none of these symbols were on the Dark Side. So I guess that is reserved for the apostate.

NO! Mormons are Christians who practice faiths that believe in Jesus Christ. You're pretty crazy to ask a question like that and obviously not know enough about the religion to even make sense of it.

Isolde, I've heard that Yoda was patterned after Spencer W. Kimball too. I don't know if that's just "Mormon legend," but just for giggles I thought I'd add this link to his picture:

Minus the green skin factor, I must say, there is an uncanny resemblance.

No. The force is Buddhism. Mormons are a legalistic sect of Christians.

You make it sound like Mormons are on the side of Satan.. Not so. They are just a bunch of nice friendly people. They have good family values, and are very moral. They are all smiles and get people to join them by showing that they are loving and caring. It just so happens that their doctrines are wacked. They are the original American cult.

Of All the Christian sects, Mormons have been some the NICEST and MATURE people I have ever met... I would not call them dark.

Now the Child-marrying freaks who claim to be Mormon, they are seriously disturbed...
