For. It isn't about finding ways to store the waste indefinitely as another answer claimed. It is about finding ways to store the waste till technology can reprocess it into more usable fuel. Solar energy is great. Wind energy needs some improvements but can become great. Nuclear energy has to be a part of the energy equation, for fossil fuels are becoming harder and harder to procure.

Nuclear energy is a good thing. it is much greener than burning coal. Even though some more work needs to be done in tryip with a wayng to come up with a way to store the spent fuel rods.

how can somthing that creates waste that is deadly and wont decompose for 1000s of years be called clean its like cleaning your house by shoving every thing under the rug

there are alot of close calls with plants that most people never hear of they are not as safe as you think. Australias plant is built on a fault line.

there is no real way of disposing of the waste just stick it in a hole

also the western governments say it is imperitative that we have it to help stop global warming yet they are against developing countries developing plants because of security threats. If its that important all countries should be using it very hipocritical

if every one was more power concious we could cut consumption by half easily

For. This is one thing the French got right. Almost all of their electrical power is produced by nuclear plants. And they handle the spent fuel by reprocessing to make additional fuel.
