I am looking get a new bike to ride to work. It's about a 13 miles one way and there are some hills. I am currentally looking at the Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra and the Trek 7.6FX. Does anyone have any experience with either of these bikes? I tested a road bike but there is no way I am going to get one of them. I hate everything about them. Can someone please help me with any recomendations?
Thank you.

I used to ride a cannondale bad boy ultra to school, it's definitely a great bike. It's just perfect for commuting. It's even better if you have some spare dollars to upgrade the mechanical brakes into hydraulics ones. I used to ride it on a single speed. Don't forget to use a U lock to keep your bike secured from those filthy thieves! :D

Both are great bikes. Period. Both Trek and Cannondale make an excellent product. All things being equal the Trek is probably a better buy. This is because I think the Cannondale is overkill in some respects. I'm not sure why a bike that is based on the road would need disk brakes. They look cool, but they add money and not sure you'd get any value for them whatsoever.

One thing to keep in mind though is the different gearing. The Trek has a road based gear ratio with two rings up front 50/36. The Cannondale has gearing similar to a mountain bike. Which one you prefer may determine which bike is best for you.

go with the Trek, good name, good components for a fair price
also take a look at Giant, KHS, and Specialized

I know a few people who have Cannondales, but I still prefer the others I listed

The trek is much more durable if you plan on keeping it for a long time. I like the seats on the bad boy, but the trek is by far the better buy.

The trek is a very nice choice.
