Its because im trying to shop on amazon and i dont know if i can use that same number to buy things....the stolen one has been canceled

Yes, the card number will change. The card will be declined if you try to use the old number because it has been canceled. Your bank account number will stay the same so you could still use a "pay-by-check" type of payment, unless you stopped payment on your checks as well. Typically, your new card will arrive within a week so you won't be without a method of payment for too long.

Yes, the cancelled one should not work and you will get a new number, so you might want to use a credit card or hold off on buying with the number until you get the new card.

If you were able to use the card on-line to begin with, it is NOT an ATM card. ATM cards ONLY work at ATMs. It sounds like a DEBIT card. If the card was closed, the number is no longer valid.

Yes the replacement card will have different numbers. However, do document when you lost the card so that you won't be liable for any charges made to the card.
