Get her a new one and put it on her properly. there should only be room for two fingers between the collar and the dog's neck. You had it too loose, be thankful that she didn't gag herself!!

Well if you are concerned about her swallowing it, how large were the pieces? Odds are excellent it will pass; just watch her stools for the next couple of days and get her to the vet if she is straining or goes off her food.
If you need a temporary collar, use a leash and loop it back on itself through the handle, put that loop around the neck and you hold the end with the clip, be careful not to pull it too tight; what you have made is called a slip lead.
If this is a common occurance, I suggest you purchase a Lupine brand collar. They have a lifetime guarantee - no questions asked, you just get a new one, even if the dog chewed it up. Choke chains are dangerous. I would never put a choke chain on a dog, esp if it were to be left unattended. A pinch is better if you are concerned about control.

Buy a Lupine collar. Guaranteed even if chewed, just send the collar back to Lupine and they'll replace it.
Buy two, while they are really quick to get a new one out to you, you'll want one in the meantime.
I and the dogs over at Tia's Pet Place highly recommend these collars

Next time purchase her a chain type collar. Make sure she didn't eat any of the pieces of the old collar though. If so, make sure she keeps eating and deficating. Any vomiting, see a vet as she could have an intestinal obstruction.

I would make sure that the collar was on a bit tighter for one thing. Then I would go with a heavy duty leather collar or a heavy nylon one. Just make sure that your dog can't get his mouth down under the collar when it is on.

We had a hound that did this to both his collar and leash, repeatedly!!! We finally had to resort to using a chain collar and leash. Their are plently available that are not "choke " or training chains, it need not cause your dog any discomfort. Let her try to chew thru that!!!!

I would recommend a choke chain. I had the same problem with my lab, now he has a choke chain and has had it for a year and a half. I tamed his habit!
