I'm not sure if the retin-A can help with the appearance of indented scars though there is a great website with a message forum area for those that have used various skin care products and what they thought about them in addition to other more invasive techniques such as cosmetic surgery including chemical peels, laser, dermabrasion (separate from microderm which is not supposed to give that much of a dramatic change in most anyone). www.makemeheal.com and can click on 'message boards'.
And please, btw, do Not try to do a chemical peel yourself! Several on that board have said that they purchased the tca (medium depth) peel online and diluted it but doing it on oneself can lead to burns, further scarring, hyperpigmentation and more injury. Even when a dermatologist does such a peel, it can lead to those complications, however, they have the training and education to hopefully keep those possible adverse effects to a minimum.
And just fyi, on the laser board, it seemed that there were quite a few post-op patients that were unhappy with those results.

Most scars tend to go away over time. Give it a while, and if it doesn't go away, try consulting a doctor. There are surgeries that can improve a scar or get rid of it. You could also try scar removal cream. You can find the cream at a local pharmacy or other retail store (Wal-Mart).

I was just prescribed it for acne but my dad also had it prescribed to him when he got an allergic reaction to some pumpkin vines(yea weird I know) I don't think it helps with indented scars because it is a retanoid (SP?) which helps take out oil from your skin.

Tretenoin is intended to get rid of acne and redness, so you should ask a dermatolist for a medication for indented scars.

Possibly, but you may have to have procedure done like a laser or dermabrasion or a filler injected. Give it a try first.

no, it only peels away the top layer of skin, you'd have to get dermabrasion or a deep laser skin resurfacing for that.
