Hi ,i would like to know roughly how much it would be to put down oak flooring in a room 21ft x 9 ft. I would like to know the complete cost including fitting .Thanks for your time ,,any answers greatly appreicated.

hiya,my partner is a Joiner and ive just asked him and he says for decent quality oak flooring you will be looking at about £400-500. Then you will have the fitting fee which can vary from £200-400. If you know a joiner then all the better,if you live in Scotland he said he would fit it for you(hes serious).Hope this helps.Need any more info get back to me.

21*9=189 sq feet
189 sq feet = 21 sq yards.
Allow about £30 per yard for economy flooring fitted =£630
For good quality french oak flooring (solid not laminated) fitted including removal of existing floor boards and all sundry work allow about £1500 for a room of this size.

The going rate for solid wood flooring is anything from £25-£32 a sqr metre.

All I'd like to say is that an American designer could have answered this question just as well as someone from the UK. You shouldnt be biased.

i think the total cost will be nearer 2000 than 1500

If you get your quote from Polish worker it will be more use. They even can advise you on the materials and timing
