1 carry on item that has to fit in the overhead comparments. If its too big they will make you check it. So make sure the one carry on you have is small enough to fit. The only way you can have two items is if you have a carry on and a purse, they won't count the purse.

Generally, a purse isn't considered "luggage," however it counts as one of two items allowed on the plane.
You can not, for example, bring on two roller-bags (you, know, like the flight attendants use), but you can bring on one roller-bag and a purse.

Two. Usually they make it one luggage item and one personal (purse, briefcase etc.) If the plane is not full you can get away with two luggage and your purse.
