Yes I've heard each and everyone of these childish arguments.
They only show off the ignorance of the asker.

I have heard some of these from my evangelical mother:
1) Open your eyes and look to the possibilities
No, and no on the questioning part, too. My mother's faith is about blind obedience, not understanding the world.
3) Some things just can't be explained scientifically
Gag...my mother doesn't even know what science is. She believes that all true science validates her bible.
4) God still love you, just be a good person
Yes. Apparently one cannot be a moral person and not believe in fairy mush. I've been called damned, blind (because I think "speaking in tongues" is baloney and I've read Harry Potter), and against god. Not to mention going to hell.
7) Well...it's a mystery...
She said "the bible is mysterious" when I pointed out contradicting passages. Apparently fundamentalism bans thinking, too.
10) God is the creator , "He" watches everything you do and say, answers your prayers and loves you very much...
She doesn't believe in contraception, either, though people could starve as an effect of overpopulation or contract HIV from not using condoms. How is scorning technology an example of a deity's love?

1. Yes
2. I don't think I've gotten this one.
3. All the time, yes.
4. I usually get "God still loves you, but you're going to hell if you don't accept him."
5. Not in relation to atheism or religion :-P
6. Yes.
7. All the time.
8. Usually, people either say that capital punishment is wrong, or that it is morally right and that it doesn't break the Ten Commandments.
9. Yes, all the time.
10. Yes. Usually, people who believe in an all-powerful, all-good god blame the bad things in the world on sin. The natural disasters are somehow still from sin, or they are part of "the greater plan". Apparently, even if something is morally abhorrent to humanity (like, say, drowning the population of entire cities)--it's "good" if "God does it" because God is by nature good. Can't wrap my head around that one.

In bible, God is the creator as well as the destroyer. In the biblical times, God blessed people as well as broke people down for various reasons, such as disobediance, ungratefulness, etc. The beginning of time may not be able to be explained scientifically, however the theories that scientists of come up with.....does it make sense? Our being began with a "Big Bang" with molecules developing over times. If thats the case, why havent we revolve over the years (recent). It not a mystery its faith, to believe that our existance is in the hands of God. Many events that are happening now are written in the bible. War, mother against daughters, father against sons, famine, etc. These are consider the last days and if you read the book of Revelations you would see all of things were predicted from then. Each of us is here for a reason, our destiny is already mapped out for us, by God's will, however because he's not a controlling God, he gives us the options of our life decisions, we ultimately control our destiny. God never promised us a life free of trials or tribulations but how you deal with it determines how strong we are as a person or our faith in him. Just think of it like this....if you parents gave u everything that u wanted when you was growing or shelter you from everything, how would you appreciate life in general....how would you appreciate your hard work and the good and the bad times you go through. He's does answers our prayer, however in his time and not in ours. Sometimes we may ask and he may not deliver however its for a reason. We as humans may not see the reason or understand the reason but God knows....and he knows what's best for us although we may not. Technically Capital punishment is wrong because its killing and that is in the 10 commandments. Who are we to judge one another when we have done wrongs things at some time in our lives. Thats basically what capital punishment is the government says you killed (as a criminal) so we will kill you in return. Thats not right who to say that person didnt repent and ask for forgiveness. One of the good things about God is that he's forgives, if we honestly regret our actions. And he is ultimately the judge of our life, not mankind. We cannot see God, however we can feel him, at times he talks to us through our conscience and he's always there. But you have to have faith and that will take you a long way.

Jesus Himself was slaughtered and suffered greatly at the hand of wicked, self serving men. But He ALLOWED them to do it for all those who would believe in Him to be saved. So if Jesus Himself, by obeying God the Father, could not escape his fate then what makes us think that we can escape any of ours? Pain and tribulation is a part of life and unfortunately some people suffer worse than others. I believe in God no matter what the circumstances or evidence raised against Him because at the end of the day, He is the only One who will receive my soul when I leave this earth. I personally want my soul to come to him with the evidence of Christs redemptive work and sacrifice. As for the pain I suffer now weather God answers my prayers or not, He is still God and must be respected, praised, and worshiped as such because He is worthy!!

Being American, I think I do consider the must label myself. The drawback is I do not rather understand what label that could be. I bet I might be an Atheist as I don't consider in "God" and the bible. I see that as simply a fairytale with existence classes, similar to Grimm's' fairy-stories if you'll. But I do consider in detailed, good plenty of, Pagan ideals. And I am very clinical in my pondering as good. I suppose matters could be greater with out the labels however everybody wishes to categorize everybody so probably there might be an "undetermined" segment for men and women like me.

"famine, disease, torture, corruption, Mass Genicide, violence, discrimination, massacres."
IT IS NOT GOD'S WORK.
Suffering is the result of human sin.
There will come a day when the Lord will return and cleanse this world of all sin and all suffering.
"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be No more death, neither sorrow, Nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away" (Rev. 21:4).

My beliefs come from mere common sense (So, you say that your loving god banished humanity from paradise and comdemned us to live in a world of suffering and evil because some girl ate an apple six millennia ago? And he created this world in six days? And spent the first 4000 years smiting all those who disobeyed his constantly changing moral orders? And you say he loves us?). Yeah, it's mostly the surrealist nature of most religions. However, the arguments I hear from The Righteous don't exactly weaken my beliefs.

I`ve heard it all from HUMANS.
God never appeared or spoke .
My Parents were both religious but not fanatical .
They gave us a choice to believe or not ,we were never threatened with hell or eternal damnation.
They BOTH said religion is only Faith that was Taught .
The traditions go back to the caveman who needed to explain what they feared ..Thunder ,lightning ,heat ,cold and famine .

It is better to live in the real world, ignore the dogma, you will never find proof of fiction, yet after 2000 years of nothing, Christians are STILL seeking !
