God, not being a physical being, is neither male nor female. However, we don't want to call God "It" because in our language that is rude. We simply don't *have* a word for "conscious being without gender" in our language. Since the society through which the Bible originated was male-dominated, God just got called "He" by default.

It also is known that there is "Our Father who art in Heaven". Father means man. and then theres "In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth. He looked at what he created and saw it was good." Notice the word 'he'. all God's children just means we are all linked together, because of Adam and Eve, and that we all belong to Him, all we have to do is accept him into our hearts.

no, God is not gendered. he's also not human. Also, the bible says God man us in his image "male and female he created them" I think one could argue that it takes a male AND a female to resemble God. Also, God didn't give birth to us, he created us from dirt. It's all in Genesis.

You are attributing human form to a principle of nature. It is the cause of male and female, but is different from both of those.

Good argument, but it gets trumped by George Carlin, who says that if there's a God, he's *positive* it's a man, 'cause a woman could *never* screw things up this badly.

I consider my son as my child, so I see no problem of God being male.

"Children" is used figuratively, same as "Our Father in Heaven".
God is neither male nor female.
