Well a girl tells you your overwhelming her, it means you need to give her a little space. Too many thinks are being throw at her at once and she can't handle them all right now. Girl's are much more emotional than boys so when things overwhelm them it may not end pretty. I also suggest you asking her what she means specifically, and try telling her things in moderation.

when the guy uses the word "overwhelming" what he really means is: you are over crowding me. You might be doing way too much for him, so that he will like you.
Give him a bit of distance, and don't give too much of yourself, with flattering words, presents etc. Don't try to be with him constantly, let HIM find you a little bit aloof or distant, till the 2 of you get to to know each other better.

Give her some room. . . you guys have probably been spending a lot of time together lately and now she just wants some alone time or time with her friends with out you. . . it doens't mean that she doesn't want to see you she just wants time to do the things she wants to do that don't involve you

That is a tough one. Personally I think it could be that you are calling her to much, always wanting to be with her. Best thing is give her some time to think and have her call you for a while.
