Will I still be able to pay in installments, or will there be a final amount due?

Yes, all of the rules still apply including the payment terms. The only thing that you cannot do is to charge any additional stuff.

This happens a lot when card companies try to change their rules or rates. As the card holder you have the right to refuse the new rules and/or rates. Once you notify the company that you are canceling your terms become frozen under the existing plan.

Most credit cards will close the account and still let you pay over time, just make sure that the credit card company does not penalize you by making the finance charge much higher due to having a balance and closing the account.
