When i first became a Christian i thought that the whole world was against me. I went to a really small church so i thought that there were only like 40 people that believed the way i did. But then God started showing me many many more people, people that don't go to church and people from other churches. There are so many people that believe in God, your just not looking hard enough.
People try to prove God wrong because they don't know him. There was one of the answers that said "the burden of proof is on Christians" and since we cant prove it then they assume there is no God. But its all about faith. People that have never opened themselves up to God haven seen Gods glory and so they don't believe. When your a Christian and you open yourself up to Christ he does amazing things in your life and there's no way you can deny him. Once you become a real christian you cant fully deny God because he has shown you his love and power, love and power that no one else see's but you.
That's why its so hard to fight with people that don't believe. Iv stopped because you will never win. Because the awesomeness of God is only reveled to true believers.
Christians don't have to see God to know hes really there. They just know.
P.S. All of you that think about evolution think about this... Darwin created it but then rejected it and on his death bed said that there was no way evolution could have occured. He denyed his own reasoning.

Mankind has been in denial since he sinned in the Garden. To deney there is a God is to try to not be Responsibile for ones Actions. Is the creation greater than the Creator??? It cannot be!!! The Arrogance Complex of Sin in the Soul is the problem Satan and many Humans have. The Ruskies have stated that "If you tell a lie often enough the people will believe it because of their appathy to it." This is the "ME GENERATION" that has been building for many years like a small acorn turns into a large Oak Tree. They have bought into many Lies and are soon to be decieved by the Anti-Christ who will proclaim peace for the world while killing all his adversaries for the first part of the Tribulation. He is still trying to prove he is more powerful than God utilizing mankind to worship him instead of God to prove his power to God. Hence the Angelic Conflict! John

Most don't? WOW cuz last time I checked here, I was the minority. People in school can have a bible study anywhere they want, but if a bunch of atheist gather up, get the guns! Then it's a cult gathering...yeah...right...;) A person can say they believe in god and not get any looks, but if I speak up, i see the white of EVERYBODY'S eyes in my face...you don't?....WHY!!?? Because I think... I don't know where you live, but I want to be there if their is more atheists. You may be a minority there, But I'm one here. Why do we try to prove there's no god? Why do you insist there is one? So, if trying to find out "if" there is a god...makes if proving there is no god... are you on my side? Check the way you ask the question... :) I personally want to prove that because hey, if it turns out there is a god then great, show him/her/it to me and I'll stand in line with all the rest of you. But until then I'll step out of line and open my mind to the possibilities

Because there is no proof. If you expect people to believe something on faith alone then there are no boundaries as to what we can believe. What about the flying spaghetti monster? There is just as much proof of it, then there is of god. And every religion chooses to believe that their own god exists and not the 2800 other gods that have existed in the history of earth. Its arrogant and hypocritical that all religions call each other "infidels." If you can prove to me without a shadow of a doubt that god exists then I will believe. I didn't choose to not believe just for the hell of it, or because I wanted to piss you off. I have searched for god but came up empty handed. If he is so concerned whether I believe in him or not, then he should try harder to make me believe.

Most people don't believe in God, because they cannot see Him. they go by the rule " Seeing is believing " That's why they try to prove there is no God! Such fools! God is everywhere, all they have to do is look around and see all the beautiful things that God has created! And everytime they look in the mirror, they can see one of Gods miracles, A miracle of birth! God is like the wind, one cannot see that neither!

Atheists/agnostics comprise between 3-7% of the U.S. population.
Most of us don't try to prove that there is no god, but to expose the ridiculous fanaticism and belief in unproven claims that religion facilitates. Also religion often imposes itself on secular government, covers up science (evolution), and critiques my rights as a non-religious person (see the recent ban on non-marital co-habitation in North Dakota, for instance).
If you claim there is any god, that creates a burden of proof. There are over 2,000 religions to adhere to. If you go on "faith" as an excuse, there is no way to prove any religion more correct or incorrect than another. Faith means nothing. Considering their perspectives, only one religion can be right, but all of them could be wrong, empirically speaking.
I support the scientific method to examine all physical claims, including the existence of a deity.
Can you prove what you believe? Well, do you believe in it for a good reason, or is it just what your parents or ministry taught you to believe in? Can it be proven by studying the world? Does it cause any harm or suffering in the world? All of these are good things to consider.

I think most people who do not believe in God are SENSIBLE enough to understand that the non-existence of God cannot be proven. They rather intelligently choose not to believe in something they cannot see, hear, feel, smell, or taste. If presented with some sound evidence that God exists such people would probably change their minds, unlike religious zealots who, even when presented with all sorts of scientific facts and reasonings about why the Bible stories are not true, still refuse to believe anything else. It's about having an open mind rather than a closed mind.

In the world most people do believe in a God or Gods, in fact, only a small percentage do not. These people try to convince others that there is no God because they still have doubt and before they can be convinced they must convince others.

People *only* believe in an imaginary supernatural friend if they have been indoctrinated into it by others- generally at a young age, or at a time in their life where they are emotionally needy.
Atheists don't need to prove that there is no God (it's impossible to prove something doesn't exist).
