Have you heard the 911 call since? If you were slurring your speech or were incoherent you might get the chance to in court! If any of this occurred outside they probably will show footage from the cruisers video camera too, to collaborate their evidence. Many alcohol laws are bifurcated so that they don't require a blood alcohol test or breathalyzer to get a conviction (this is true for DUI's as well!)
Without an attorney, you can expect to get sentenced, unless you work something out with the DA, like community service, a fine, and agree to go to an alcohol program in exchange for a dismissal. (All of these things will probably be your sentence if found guilty anyway!)
If getting sentenced with this is a big deal to you and the DA doesn't want to work with you, say you need a continuance to find an attorney.

Don't lose too much sleep. Unless you have a history of this, you'll probably get off with a lecture, and maybe a small fine if found guilty. If you don't like the way things are going, you can always request a continuance to obtain an attorney. Someone should speak to you prior to the court starting. You just have to decide whether or not you want to plead guilty.

If this is your first court appearance you will be asked if you are represented by counsel. If you aren't, it will be determined if you qualify for free legal counsel by a court appointed attorney.
If you qualify, you will be given a follow up court date where your attorney will be present to represent you in your case!
As for the comment that public intoxication is "like a misdemeanor...or like getting a ticket.." there is a difference between the ticket, a violation, and a misdemeanor.
A ticket is normally a fine. A misdemeanor has a punishment of up to one year in jail. Huge difference!
Will you get jail time? Most likely "time served" and payment of court costs and fines. Also, possibly probation.
Best wishes.

well they will ask you for a verdict plea, guilty or not guilty, drunk in public is a mis-demeanor(like a speeding ticket)now if there are any chrges filed against you from your cousin or one of the officers, then you might want to ask for legal representation...otherwise, your probably looking at a fine and community service. If the circumstances are major, they may decide to give you A/A meetings to attend also

Yes but theyre going to testify that youre drunk and being that police officers are both trained to spot intoxication but also seen as "credible" witnesses in court you are in a bad way. Sucks to be you.

You're really taking a chance with that.
I doubt you will be looking at jail time but there could be a fine in that and a minor record.
Getting a lawyer is your best bet.
