You shouldn't take valium for a fear of public speaking. Valium is extremely addictive, and is not prescribed for that reason. There are other medications that help with what is called "social anxiety disorder" that you can ask your doctor about.

Here is a link to a site that discusses the causes, symptoms, current research and medical treatment of social anxiety disorder.

It sure will, but it can be overcome. Valium is probably the last thing you need though. It will mess with your mind and your true talent will not come through when you DO speak. It will be a drug addled version of your intelligent self. You can overcome this with a little help and be better for it. Valium is not your answer. Underlying issues usually provoke a fear of public speaking. Low self esteem? Low self image? Fear that everyone is staring at you? Feel free to schedule a chat with me via:

I don't know if valium would help in that situation or not. It really depends on how you react to the drug. Generally, benzodiazepines like valium and xanax are good at relaxing you, but may make you fumble on your words even more because you are not thinking clearly. I don't know what else to suggest aside from therapy and practice. I don't like to speak in front of people either, but I know that valium might make things worse! I don't think it would erase your fear of public speaking, you would just feel sleepy. This is coming from my sole experience with valium, so I could be wrong. No harm in asking your doctor about it if you think it might help! Best of luck to you!

You don't need Valium, you just need to learn a new skill. Find out if your school has a debate club or other club that will help you develop public speaking skills.

Another option is to contact a local Toastmasters club. They may have someone willing to lead one of the youth programs at your school.

You might even invite friends to start a small public speaking group together. That's how Ralph Smedley started Toastmasters International over 80 years ago!

Don't turn to drugs to overcome this fear. That isn't going to help you develop this skill. Put the time and energy into it. Face your fear and you'll be amazed at how it will change your life.

You'll be ready to face the admissions board to tell them why you deserve to accepted at their school. You'll sound confident, capable, and ready to take on any challenges they toss your way.

Good luck!

You're now not by myself! Fear of public speakme is an excessively natural worry. While it's actual that your worry will lessen with revel in, that have does not ought to be simplest your possess. I talk now and again at my church. I get the ones very identical jitters I had whilst I used to be in top college (I'm in my overdue 30's now). Sometimes, I do not relatively think as much as it, however I cross forward and do it besides. My trust is maximum whilst I am good ready. After all, speakme is a utterly ordinary endeavor. And, if I recognise what it's I'm going to mention, then the one factor left to do is to open my mouth and allow the phrases pop out. The trick is to cognizance on WHAT you are doing, NOT HOW you are doing. Don't fear approximately what different humans are pondering. Simply cognizance on what you are doing - speakme. If you cognizance on what others is also pondering, that is whilst you get distracted and are much more likely to reduce to rubble. When you cognizance on what you're doing, the ones jitters will leave. Also - be ready. Practice what you're going to talk approximately till you're very aware of it. I regularly train earlier than I talk. My revel in has been that the extra I train, the extra comfy I am with what I am speakme, and the bigger task I turn out to be doing. One final factor - If you do reduce to rubble - do not fear approximately it. It isn't the top of the arena. There is NOT ONE PERSON on the planet who's best. Everyone makes errors. Whenever I reduce to rubble, I with no trouble right myself and transfer proper alongside. I do not reside on it, and I do not make excuses as to why I tousled. It's human. Just preserve on with the very subsequent phrase of your speech, and any errors you're making will swiftly be forgotten. Hope this is helping! Good good fortune!!!

If your body reacts to Valium the way mine does, you would not be speaking intelligently, you'd be making a fool of yourself.

Practicing is better for you than medication. Practice will lessen your fears over time.

If you get valium be very careful with it. Don't use it more than once a month or your body might get addicted to it. Sedatives are highly addictive.
