I moved into my rental house about 3 months ago and only plan on living here for a few years until I can afford to buy my own so I don't really want to put any money into it. But, there is wallpaper on my shower walls and its hiding mold and it's peeling off. Worse yet, it is all sunflowers!! There are three different kinds of wallpaper in the bathroom, all different sunflower patterns. I love to relax in the tub but find it hard when the bathroom is a disaster. I know nothing about redecorating. What would be best to replace the wallpaper in the shower with? That is cheap but will outlast my stay here. I want the cheapest way to make my bathroom look better. Any suggestions, Please help!!!

oh my dear kimmie...I am a painter. Removing wallpaper can be a complete pain in the you know what. If the wall wasn't sized the paper will be very difficult to get off. It can cause Lot's of drywall damage that would need repairing. Sometimes it's so bad that I tell my customers it would be easier to put new 1/4 drywall over the old crap and go from there.
I know you don't want to hear this...just leave it. unless the owner will help you foot the bill or you know for a fact it will all come off easily.
If so...you will need to use OIL BASED KILZ to prevent the mold from coming back. Then use a eg shell for the finish of whatever color your little bath taking time heart desires. The candle light reflection with saphire blue walls in the background is amazing.
Find yourself a painter next time your out with the girls and do some flirting..lol...maybe you two can strike up a deal. wink

I'd strip of that ugly wallpaper! OK, you might have some wall repair from the paper removal......just a skim coat) The mold can be killed, then the walls first treated with KILZ. ( Then paint. I hope there's good ventilation in the bathroom so the mold doesn't reappear.

u'll have to take the wallpaper off and put some Kilz on the walls to get rid of the mildew. Then look into buying some shower board that u glue on. other than tile or painting it with waterproof paint i see no alternative. Painting is cheapest but u will have to put the kilz on and seal it before u paint it
good luck

Cheep is to remove the paper that is peeling, then paint over the wall paper with a coat or two of good primer. BIN is great but Kills is just as good, Home depot has one called "gripper" that I liked and hides pretty well. Then paint with yor color of choice.

A fast support, rather then Pepto Bismol, is to consume lots of boiled white rice...this may occasionally act as a binding agent. Bananas are identified to bind you as good, however if in case you have had diarrhea for four days now, you had greater pass to the medical professional now!!! You would have depleted your electrolytes to a hazardous degree. This is indicative of a a lot more severe underlying sickness/health problem.
