Meaning, I can't tell you. Purpose...so that the soul/spirit inside you can learn lessons that it hasn't learned before. To love and lose love. To have joy and sorrow. To experience everything it can before it's time to die and live again to learn even more.
The best way I can describe it is instead of trying to live your life, let life live through you and see what happens! Never pass up an opportunity or its a missed opportunity. You get nothing in this life without taking chances.

The meaning of life is not 42.
It is to serve God and to prepare for Heaven. It sounds like a tiring thing and you might think, "Yeah, yeah whatever I don't believe in God why do I need to serve him..." or something similar. But if you read the Bible, you'll find out every answer to every question in the universe (I don't mean like what is 1+1=?)
If you believe in God but you don't feel like serving him, well, take the following survey:
1. Do you have a house?
2. Are you talented in ANY way?
3. Do you eat good food?
4. Do you have parents and siblings and/or other family members?
If you answered yes to all or most of the above, God has "served" you (more like rewarded you with gifts). Now it's your turn to serve God and to prepare for heaven.

Look around you. What you see is what you get. Make the best of it. If you are waiting for a voice from above or a burning bush to tell you why you're here, you are going to be disappointed.
Why does life have to have a meaning?

Of course there is... to me the meaning of life is altruism, studying the Buddha Dharma and trying to achieve absolute bodhicitta (compassion) (note: I said "TRY")... life is what you make of it...
learning, seeing wonders of the world and enjoying what beauty the planet has to offer, visiting different cultures and learning altruism yourself, leaving your "mark" on society by acheiving something notable like sports, Nobel Peace Prize, be a teacher, and blah blah blah... I think you get the idea.

That would depend on what you have learned in the life you are living! Life is a lesson in itself. You won't find the complete answers until you have learned the lessons you are meant to learn.

Life is a precious gift from God. We all have a purpose in life! Apparently you have not found yours? Are you able to help someone with their chores? Find an elderly person who needs help!

Honestly, if you can't see a meaning to life, then why are you still here? There must be some meaning..
