I've used a pretty good one, it's called yousendit.com

However its free account only allows sending files that are smaller than 100MB...

I want to send files that are larger than 100MB to my friends,

is there a free-service somewhere that offers that?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks guys. But I saw in your answers that you still include YouSendIt.com, but as I said, this company is out because it's free only for <100MB file size...

http://www.mediafire.com/ is out too, because it says, maximum 100MB per file, which is exactly opposite to what I want ...

Any more thoughts? Thanks a lot

In addition, I suggest you check out the freeware file hjsplit. That way, you can make the files smaller and have less problems

Take a 5 mb file a try it and assemble it

i've a very good idea for you...
and its better than using other services.. given you are sending same file to many of your friends....

.. use torrents sites...
.
.
.
download a torrent client..(i would advice either bitComet or utorrent) ...
create the torrents of the files you wish to send to your friends..(you can create torretns easily.. from within the torrent clients only....)..
.
.
.
.
now you have two options..
1. straight and simple.. upload the torrent to any public torrent portal..
eg.. upload your torrents to torrentportal.com..,
.
.
nop ask your friends to download that torrent.. and using any of the torrent clients .. your friends can download the entire file.. and that to using less bandwidth from your side..
(i won't describe why... search for it on net... :-))...
.
.
and best part is that everything is free..
.
.
even if you want to share your 80GB hard disc.. that can be done for free..(in the sense that you don't have to pay to any one other than your ISP and Electricity company... )
.
.
.
.
2nd way is to download some announce script and host your own , small, torrent index..(i'll advice not to do this though...)...
.
.
.
.
.
i hope i was able to put my point...
.
. and hope it helps/....

Sorry splik but i have a better solution lol. Try SendMyZIP.com and unlike mediafire it lets you send files up to 1GB, and doesn't require registration.
