Um, no. I watched a great roundtable discusion about this on public television here in Canada a couple of weeks ago. Among the guests were Simcha Jacobovici, the director of the "Lost Tomb of Jesus", and various academic scholars (including theologians, historians, and others). The scholars absolutely demolished Jacobovici's arguments, and it became resoundingly clear that he didn't have the first clue what he was talking about. It's all hype, and it will make some people a lot of money.

I believe they found the bones of a Jesus, they may not be the ones of the Messiah. I also believe the authors of the Bible knew this day would come so they used a very common name of the period to call the Messiah.

Whether or not they found the tomb of the historical Jesus, his bones weren't found, as those were re-buried quasi-anonymously years before anybody examined the case in detail.

Who knows. Christians do not want any evidence of a mortal deity, so "Jesus bones" must always be denied.

I don't think so; I watched that video on the page, and although that guy was totally cheezy, he was convincing. What got me was that their DNA "evidence" means nothing because they have nothing to compare it to (no one has Jesus' DNA!) to say it's actually Jesus' DNA
