What is the most efficient way to study for chemistry tests?

Everybody has a different study technique that works for him/her. I like to do my reading and studying just before class, so that the material is fresh and I'm prepared. I usually take night classes, so I read up over dinner and I'm ready to go.

I haven't taken chemistry in a while but this worked great for some advanced biology courses I took a few years ago.
