>>Can someone prove to me that protestants are not just wasting their time?<<
LOL! No, because Protestants ARE wasting their time, just aimlessly wandering around outside of full communion with the successor of Peter, to whom Christ entrusted the care of His sheep (John 21:15-17).

The “first church” is the church that is recorded in the New Testament, especially in the Book of Acts and the Epistles of Paul. The New Testament church is the “original church” and the “one true church.” We can know this because it is described, in great detail, in Scripture. The church, as recorded in the New Testament, is God’s pattern and foundation for His church. On this basis, let’s examine the Roman Catholic claim that it is the “first church.” Nowhere in the New Testament will you find the “one true church” doing any of the following: praying to Mary, praying to the saints, venerating Mary, submitting to a pope, having a select priesthood, baptizing an infant, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as sacraments, or passing on apostolic authority to successors of the apostles. All of these are core elements of the Roman Catholic faith. If most of the core elements of the Roman Catholic Church were not practiced by the New Testament Church (the first church and one true church), how then can the Roman Catholic Church be the first church? A study of the New Testament will clearly reveal that the Roman Catholic Church is not the same church as the church that is described in the New Testament.

In any congregation there will be some who want to get drunk on the body and blood of Christ and some who are left hungry. But God's judgement will come. (Second half of 1 Corinthians 11)
So there is no such thing as absolutely safety, except under God's wings. (Ruth 2:12)
It is true that Jesus only made provision for one universal church. This is the body of Christ. I also think that emotionalism at church is simply feeding people's addictions. And yet, the apostle Paul said, if an unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, go (1 Corinthians 10:27). There is no place that it's a bad place to be, because preaching can be done, although that's for men if you're in a church, because women are supposed to be silent, but I'm still looking into that one (1 Corinthians 14:34).
Who is the faithful and discreet slave (Matthew 24:45)?
Jesus said to Peter that "on this rock" he would build his church and the gates of death would not overcome it. This occurred at Pentecost. The structure comes about because of healing that occurs so that Christians are not reliant on negotiating the health politics of this world. I believe that God would listen to any sincere prayer on this matter.

We have a great deal of structure, the bible is the same and available for all to read. Jesus made Peter the rock of the catholic church. Note that form of catholic means universal look it up. I will remain in my denomination the Anglican Catholic Church.

I'm not answering your question because I'm sure you are a troll and do not speak for the mainstream Catholic Church.
But I did want to comment on the post of Adolpho M. My brother I am with you. I believe that when our Lord looks down on us, He does not see all the denominations and divisions that we have created. I believe He sees just one Church, His Church. And everyone who confesses that Jesus is Lord, that He died for our sins, and rose the third day and comes to Him in true repentance is a member of this rather large church.
I'll see you in heaven my brother and there we will laugh at all the things that Tried to divide us.
By the way, I'm a protestant minister.
Grace and Peace to all.

Look. We all believe the same things, but Catholics have extra goodies that Protestants just don't use. That's fine. The core of our faith is the same for both.
By the by, Jesus didn't say his rock was "The Catholic Church." He just said "The Church." Geez.

John was the beloved. Peter is the rock which the church is built on. As far as if the teaching is form Holy Spirit, we all are to be like the Bereans and search the scriptures ourselves to see it what is given is true. Also we are to test the spirits. (Acts 17:10,11) and (1 John 4:1).

God didn't want us to have idols (look at the statues in your buildings). He didn't command us to pray to Mary. He forbade us to call earthly ministers "Father". And God is only reverend, not men or women. He did not call women to be "nuns" (find that word in the Bible) He did not intend for one elder to elevate himself over the other elders and become "Pope". You are the ones who were fallen away from the true church that was founded on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.
You need to read the Bible and stop listening to traditions of men.

I reject all forms of Christian infighting. My mother is a Protestant Evangelical and says that Catholics are not "true" Christians and going to hell because they worship Mary (and she used to be a Catholic for 30+ years!).
The point is that nobody can prove a thing about religion. It's one thing to argue over moral/ethical/physical aspects, but you can argue theological points for centuries and never get a scrap closer at the truth. But you can cause a lot of conflict, warfare, and devastation over it.
So I suggest, lightly, to stop fighting other Christian interpretations over doctrine you cannot prove. Until you have empirical evidence that your belief system is valid, bigotry is the only justification for your arguments.

I am catholic and you my friend are acting totally opposite as a Christian should. Protestants in their love and faith in jesus Christ are justified by that same faith, just as we are. Jesus Christ, my friend is infinite in mercy. Instead of condemning your fellow christians today you should be praying the divine mercy chaplet in preparation for the divine mercy sunday. The day when the gates of mercy are wide open for all.
You know, in the novena of Divine mercy, today is the 5th day, the day we bring to the father's mercy all separated christians so they can be united?
You do not represent the position of the catholic Church and of the true catholic faithful who look forward for full unity of christians. We don't look down on them, and definitely we don't condemn them. Don't do this in public, you are actually muddimg the name of the church.
Pray, my dear pray, and do not condemn that the judgement belongs to God alone, pray for His mercy.
Eternal father I offer you the body and the blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved son Our lord jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.
For the sake of His sorrowful passion, have mercy on us and all the whole world.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and all the whole world.
God bless
